Moebius is Nikunj Patel – a graphic designer, animator, sound mangler and all round creative artist. Apart from keeping himself busy in the studio creating otherworldly visuals, we found him producing and releasing a dozen of forward thinking electronic music, at the opportunity of which we reached out to him to curate us a special playlist of music he’s been listening. Plug in.
This week’s cutz is brought to you by Rohan Kale. Based out of New Delhi, this connoisseur of bass heavy music plays his roles fluently as an eclectic DJ and a Radio Programmer for Boxout.fm. Today he graces us with tunes ranging from Akkord to Alix Perez to Children of Zeus. Dive in.
An all female line up of some really tasty reggae music brought just in time for your weekend laid back listening needs – curated with love by Sumer Mehta (TheDarkter) – Founder of The Harbour Press and one half of Harbour Dubs.
While passionately dividing his time between running a screen printing studio and various projects as a Photographer, Video Editor, Set Designer and Installation Artist, he also prescribes some serious dubs as a Selekta at heart. We got in touch with him to curate us something special this week.
Here’s the list from TheDarkter.
This week, we are delighted to bring you a playlist curated by taste bud enhancer and food connoisseur, Chef Gresham Fernandes. For those that don’t know, Gresham is also a DJ and plays the groove at quite a few parties when he’s not spending time in the Kitchen. We thought it would be great to have him on board to serve you this week’s fresh cutz, from DJ Koze to Kohra x Blot to Recondite, it’s all in there. Get in and find out more!
You can also catch Gresham playing some music at the Khar Anti-Social terrace from 6-10pm on 13th August.
“The following playlist is a collection of songs, reflections, stories. I like to be lulled by something other than frenetic rhythm.
Silences matter to me. The slow sound of Nature, a kind of poetry which would melt into a computer system, into twisted LFO’s. Could concrete music, married to the digitalized technics of our time, be the music of tomorrow?
To keep the singularity of the things that surround us. Set them to music. Experiment, travel. That’s all.”
Mumbai-based electronic music producer Sandunes (Sanaya Ardeshir) played at an Red Bull Music Academy Session in Kuwait last week, alongside Jiver (Jivraj Singh), her musical partner in Perfect Timing. She picks four tunes from the region that stayed on her laptop after
the journey home.
